We put a lot of thought into living rooms here at Dablew11. We remember the well-worn living rooms we grew up in, dream of the pristine, flawless living rooms we see in design magazines and blogs, and think about how to decorate our own living rooms at home to reflect ourselves and our unique personalities.
Is it strange to think so much about Living Rooms? We don’t think so! Especially not when you factor in the time we spend there. The name says it all: they are the rooms in which we spend (much of) our lives.
So of course we came up with many ideas for wall art for the living room, from individually framed photo prints to modern art prints. With all of these discussions and deliberations, we found that while there are many ways to personalize and customize your space with art, they all have two things in common:
Your home should your reflection:
One of our philosophies is that everyday life is the perfect canvas for your creativity. And we all are creative. Sometimes it takes a little bit of encouragement and motivation to get started. If you are a travel lover, art lover, plant lover or more, your living room is the perfect place to show your passion. If you are confused about the ideas for wall art for your living room, look for inspirational things that illuminate you and the spirit of your life.
A well-decorated living room invites and puts people at ease:
Your living room is more than just a place to relax and unwind, it is also a place where you receive guests and socialize. And no doubt - a nice living room with frame prints and custom artwork is very inviting and instantly comfortable.
A little thought and effort goes a long way in creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. So using these two principles, let's take a look at some of our favorite ways to transform living rooms with art.
Give bold look by using color blocking technique
Color brings a room to life, and color blocking is a foolproof technology for creating visually cohesive and consistent harmony in your space. First, choose one or more abstract art prints that use spot colors that don't have many shades or fine details, then create your own background. The color should tell a story and create an atmosphere.
Set the style and tone based on your furniture
If you have a beautiful piece of furniture, such as a couch or a loveseat, a print or pattern that you like, then you have the inspiration for best home decor. Think about what you like in them and and choose the art prints to go with it. For example, if you have a sofa with a pink floral print that makes your heart beat faster, you can hang multiple canvases that echo the pink of the flowers, the shape of the flowers or the accent of the leaves. No matter how you handle it, the result is a living room that looks polished and sharp.
Give ultra-modern look with a black and white motif
Black and white is the ultimate bold statement. The strictly two-tone palette allows your eye to focus on shape and detail without color restrictions. We recommend that you choose a large size of black and white art prints or photo prints and make it a focal point of your living room. Not only does it add a touch of sophistication, but it becomes a topic of conversation.
Go Scandinavian
If you like the airy minimalism of black and white, but everything is a bit blunt for you, then Scandinavian style might be your go-to style. It softens the contrast by mixing cool blondes and classic greens for an updated, modern feel.
Turn your room into an all-white oasis
On the other hand, you might want to go to the extreme end of the cool spectrum and put your heart to white. Not for the faint of heart, but if you are a trendsetter, you will appreciate the crystal beauty of an all-white theme. A white-on-white canvas is a unique and impressive way to elevate your living room to the level of a work of art.
